When I went to the dentist’s this week, the surgery window overlooked the old Foden family home in Edgeley.
And the Fodens, including young Phil, until fame and fortune took them elsewhere, were patients there.
Lucky them, as dentist Heidi Bailey just happens to be the best dentist in the world.
So, via dentistry and being a big Man City fan, I feel I’ve got this strange connection to one of the best footballers in England.
Which is why he just had to feature in my companion piece to the already popular ‘Stockport das neue Berlin’ poster.
Out of sheer devilment - because while lots of people love it, an equal number of people seem to get wound up by it - I thought I’d just invert the poster to feature the Brandenburg gate instead of Underbanks with some new tongue-in-cheek wording while retaining the Stockport link.
And well, it just had to have Phil Foden, probably Stockport’s most famous living person, doing a traditional German dance in Lederhosen, didn’t it?
