Ainsdale poster by Eric Jackson, Statement Artworks www.statementartworks.com
Ainsdale, a pretty village between Southport and Formby, has some spectacular sandhills, and the beach is a magnet for kite surfers.
The dunes also attract natterjack toads, and the amphibian theme has featured prominently in its history. The village also hosts championship golf, while a nearby airbase was built to protect Liverpool during the war.
Ainsdale is also the very first seaside poster I’ve painted, and I was desperate not to fall into the trap of making it look like a kitschy picture postcard.
I was inspired by a previous customer, who had moved to Ainsdale from Stockport, to do it. So cheers, Allan, who has bought the very first two prints.
