Stalybridge poster, by Eric Jackson, Statement Artworks www.statementartworks.com

from £30.00

It’s one of the most famous wartime songs ever, and It’s A long Way To Tipperary was written in 1912 by music hall producer Jack Judge in Stalybridge.

Of course Piccadilly and Leicester Square get a mention in the lyrics, while Stalybridge is omitted, so I’ve gone some way to redress the balance in my poster, albeit in reverse.

The figures in the picture, by the way, are modelled by my wife Jane and cousin Ian.

And who could, in their right mind, mention Stalybridge without referencing the famous Station Buffet Bar? If you’ve never been, then go! It has to be among the top 10 pubs in the whole of the UK. In fact I‘d put it in the top three. Magnificent.

My hand-painted poster, in all its many formats, is available to buy at the ‘shop online’ page at www.statementartworks.com
