The trouble with Hebden Bridge, when it came to painting the poster, was that there was just too much to work with.

It’s the Chorlton of the Pennines, it’s been the setting for TV dramas such as Happy Valley and Riot Women and it’s, well, incredibly picturesque and charming and very quirky. So how to distil?

The first step was to do the research for backdrops and themes FOUR years ago. And after that gestation period, I thought, oh sod it, I’m going on my own sweet tangent. So I conflated the place with Bridgerton, for an even more surreal angle on the West Yorkshire town.
